JHL Performance Horses is led by trainer John Hoctel and provides affordable full service lessons, training and boarding for riders and horses of all levels. JHL Performance Horses specializes in Quarter Horses and Paints and focus on English and Western Pleasure. Whether you're looking to become a champion in the show ring, or want to be successful on the trail, we can assist you, and design a program to build your confidence and help you achieve success. We are a family owned and operated establishment, Training, Showing & Instruction: We Train and Show horses in preparation for Open, Youth and Amateur classes at AQHA shows in Halter, Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Hunter under Saddle, Trail, Western Riding, Reining, Horsemanship, Equitation and Longe Line and all breeds at the NSBA level. We welcome horses and riders to come to the farm to be analyzed and evaluated. We accept all horses for training, and students may board their horse here; may have their horse in training, haul their own horse in for instruction or take instruction riding on one of our horses. We also like to start young horses with willing dispositions. Horse training starts with ground work and proceeds to riding under saddle. It is important that the basics are well taught and accepted by the horse to make it a great mount. The best time to start a horse is when it is young as they are usually eager to learn and the finished horse can be one to enjoy for life. We have been training and showing for over twenty years. We also have an extensive trail horse breaking program which includes training on our many miles of trails and the use of Salt Fork State Park located close by. Learn the enjoyment of trail riding.
